Terms and Conditions
1About these Terms
1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are the rules for using the 592Security website and everything we run through it: these pages, the sign-in areas (members, customers and staff), the free website security scanner and its reports, the customer portal, our messages to you and, when it is released, our mobile app (together, the “Site”). They also apply to the products and services we sell or provide (the “Services”).
1.2 “592Security”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the business trading as 592Security in Georgetown, Guyana. “You” means the person using the Site or the Services. If you use them for a business, “you” includes that business, and you promise that you have the authority to bind it.
1.3 If you buy CCTV, alarm, monitoring, website-building or other Services from us, you will also receive a quote, order confirmation, invoice or other written agreement from us, or you will accept one by message (together, a “Service Agreement”). These Terms apply together with your Service Agreement. If they conflict about that particular product or service, the Service Agreement comes first, except that sections 10 (no guarantee), 16 (disclaimers), 17 (limits on our liability) and 21 (governing law) always apply as far as the law allows.
1.4 You agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy when you create an account, run a scan, send us a form, tick a box saying you agree, pay us, or otherwise use the Site or the Services. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
2Changes
2.1 We may change these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Site or the Services from time to time, for example to follow the law, to add features or to fix problems. The version number and date are at the top of each document.
2.2 We will post the new version on the Site. A change takes effect 14 days after we post it, or straight away if it is required by law or is needed to protect the Site or other people. If a change is important and we have your contact details, we will also tell you.
2.3 If you keep using the Site or the Services after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you do not accept it, stop using the Site and contact us. A change never reduces the rights you have under a Service Agreement that is already running, except where the law requires it.
3Accounts
3.1 You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if that is higher) and able to enter into a contract.
3.2 Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
3.3 There are three kinds of account: website members (for the scanner and your reports), customers (for the customer portal) and staff (our team). Staff areas are only for people we have authorised. Do not try to get into an area you have not been given.
3.4 Keep your password secret and use one that nobody else uses. Do not share your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it happens because of our mistake. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
3.5 We may limit how many accounts, scans or requests one person or network can make (we use limits to protect the Site), and we may refuse, suspend or close an account as set out in section 19.
4Acceptable use
4.1 You agree not to do any of the following, or to help anyone else to:
- break any law, or any person’s rights, through the Site or the Services (including the Cybercrime Act 2018 of Guyana, which makes it an offence to access a computer system without authority);
- access, probe, scan, test or try to break into any website, server, network, account or device that you do not own and do not have written permission to test (see section 5);
- attack or overload the Site, or try to get around its limits, logins, security or access controls;
- upload or send viruses, malware or other harmful code;
- copy, scrape, harvest or crawl the Site with automated tools, or use bots, unless we have said in writing that you may;
- copy, resell, reverse-engineer or take apart the Site, our software or our reports, except where the law lets you;
- pretend to be someone else, or give false details or a false authorisation; or
- use the Site to send spam, or to send or post anything unlawful, threatening, abusive or defamatory, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
4.2 We may investigate anything that looks like a breach of this section, remove content, block access, and report it to the police or other authorities.
5Website security scanner and reports
5.1 What it is. The scanner is a set of tools we provide with the Site, called Quick Check, Pentest, Deep Audit and Threat Intel on the Site. Quick Check, Pentest and Deep Audit send requests to the website you enter, and Pentest and Deep Audit include tests that behave the way an attacker would. Threat Intel looks up information in outside security databases.
5.2 Permission comes first. Before you start any scan you must own the website, server or network you are testing, or have the written permission of its owner (and of any hosting company or other third party whose permission is needed). You confirm this every time you start a scan. For a Deep Audit you must also sign the authorisation form on the Site, and you promise that you are allowed to sign it.
5.3 Risks of testing. Scans can set off alarms, firewalls and blocking, appear in logs and security reports, slow a website down and, in rare cases, interrupt it or cause errors. You accept these risks. Choose a suitable time, take backups, and tell your hosting company if it requires notice. You are responsible for any effect that a scan you start has on the website or on anyone else’s systems.
5.4 What you must not scan. Do not scan websites or systems that you do not have permission to test, systems that belong to a government or provide critical services (unless you are authorised to test them), or our own systems and infrastructure other than by using the Site normally. The scanner refuses some targets, such as private network addresses.
5.5 Our controls and records. We may refuse, limit, delay or stop any scan, and we may block anyone who misuses the scanner. We keep records of scans and authorisations (such as the time, the account, the network address, the target and the declaration made) so that we can show who asked for what. We may give those records to the owner of a system that was scanned, to the police or to another authority if the law requires it or if we reasonably believe a scan was not authorised.
5.6 Reports are automated. Reports and scores come from automated tools and public data. They can be wrong or incomplete: they can miss real problems and report problems that are not real. They show one moment in time. A report is not a guarantee, a certificate or an audit. It does not show that a website is secure or that it meets any law or standard (such as PCI DSS or ISO 27001), and it is not legal, security-engineering or other professional advice. A clean report does not mean a site is safe, and a finding does not always mean it can be exploited. Severity ratings, including CVSS-style scores, are estimates.
5.7 AI summaries. Where a report includes a plain-English explanation written by an AI service from the technical findings, it can be inaccurate. Check anything important with a qualified person before acting on it.
5.8 What you do with a report. Reports are for your own use. You may share a report about a website you are authorised to test with your own staff, advisers, hosting company and customers. You must not present it as an audit or certification carried out or approved by 592Security, or change it and pass it off as ours. A report link is private only because it is hard to guess: anyone who has the link can open the report while it still exists, so do not post it publicly.
5.9 Fixing problems is up to you. If you change a website after reading a report, you do so at your own risk. We recommend using a qualified professional and taking backups first. For a managed test with a written report and a re-test, contact us.
5.10 If your website was scanned without your permission. Email info@592security.com with the subject “Scanner abuse”, the time, the website address and the network address from your logs, and we will look into it, block misuse and work with you. Our scanner identifies itself in its requests as “592Security-Scanner”, with a link to this section.
5.11 Other companies’ data. The scanner uses outside data sources, named in our Privacy Policy. We do not control them and do not promise that they are accurate, complete or available.
6Our products and services
6.1 About the descriptions. What we write on the Site about our products and services is a general description, not a contract. Pictures only give you an idea. Specifications come from the manufacturers and can change. A contract is formed only as section 7 says.
6.2 CCTV packages. Our 4, 6 and 8-camera packages, the optional alarm kit, the optional monitoring service and the other add-ons are described on the Site and in your Service Agreement. The Service Agreement states exactly what you are getting, what the down payment and the monthly price cover, and for how long. Anything not listed in it is not included.
6.3 Website building and cyber services. These are quoted case by case. The quote sets out the work, the price, the timetable and what we need from you (such as text, pictures and logins), and dates depend on you giving us what we need on time. Unless the quote says otherwise: (a) hosting, domain names, third-party licences and ongoing maintenance are not included; (b) you own the finished design and the content you supplied once you have paid in full; (c) we keep our own tools, templates, code libraries and know-how and may use them again; and (d) you confirm that you have the right to use everything you give us.
6.4 Other companies’ products and apps. Many products depend on apps, cloud services or equipment from other companies (for example the ZOSI Smart app and the camera maker’s cloud). They have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them, and they can change, stop working or be withdrawn.
6.5 Availability. Products and services depend on stock, location and our capacity. We may decline or cancel an order, for example because an item is unavailable, a price was wrong, the address is outside our service area or we cannot agree the work. If we cancel an order we will refund what you have paid for it.
7Quotes, orders, prices and payment
7.1 Quotes. A quote is valid for 14 days unless it says otherwise. Prices on the Site are guides until we confirm them.
7.2 When a contract starts. A contract for a product or service starts only when we confirm your order in writing (a message is enough), or when we accept your down payment and begin work, whichever is first.
7.3 Currency and taxes. Prices are in Guyana dollars (GYD). Taxes such as VAT are either included or added, as your quote or invoice shows.
7.4 Down payment and monthly price. The amounts, the dates they are due and what they cover are in your Service Agreement. The package prices on the Site are for the package as described. If your property needs extra work (such as long cable runs, conduit, trenching, lifting equipment, difficult mounting or travel outside our usual area), we will quote it before we do it.
7.5 How to pay. You can pay by the methods shown on your invoice or in your customer portal (for example MMG or bank transfer). You are responsible for any bank or mobile-money charges. We give a receipt for each payment. Only pay into the account details shown in your portal, on your invoice or confirmed to you by us by phone. If you get a message telling you to pay somewhere else, contact us before you pay, because payment fraud is common.
7.6 Late payment. If an amount is overdue, we may remind you and then, as far as the law allows, suspend optional services (such as monitoring, remote help and support visits) until you have paid, and recover the reasonable costs of collecting what you owe.
7.7 Price changes. We may change our standard prices at any time for new orders. For a monthly price that is already agreed, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before an increase, unless your Service Agreement fixes the price for a set period. If you do not accept the increase you may end the service under section 11.
7.8 Mistakes. If a price or description is clearly wrong, we may correct it and give you the choice to go ahead at the correct price or to cancel and receive a full refund.
8Installation and your responsibilities
8.1 Dates are targets. Any installation date or time we give you, including the one-week installation we advertise, is our target. It depends on the site survey, equipment stock, access, weather and payments. We do not guarantee a date unless your Service Agreement expressly says so.
8.2 What you must provide. You must: (a) make sure we can safely reach the places where work is to be done, with an adult present who can make decisions; (b) provide working power and, where needed, a working internet connection, router and Wi-Fi password; (c) make sure you own the property or have the permission of the owner, the landlord and anyone else affected for the equipment, the cable routes and the fixing; and (d) tell us about hidden dangers such as concealed wiring, pipes, damaged ceilings, animals or unsafe areas.
8.3 Ordinary installation. Installing cameras involves drilling, fixing and running cable. We take reasonable care. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, for hidden pipes, wires or structures that we could not reasonably have found, or for the usual small marks that fixing leaves.
8.4 If we cannot finish. If we cannot start or finish because access or conditions are not ready, we may rearrange the visit and charge the reasonable cost of a repeat visit.
8.5 You are responsible for how cameras are used. You decide where cameras point, whether sound is recorded, who can view the footage and how long it is kept, and you must follow the law. In particular:
- do not point cameras at places where people can reasonably expect privacy, such as bathrooms, changing areas, bedrooms or a neighbour’s windows or private space;
- think carefully before recording sound, which is more sensitive than video;
- display signs, or tell people, where that is good practice or the law requires it;
- keep, share and delete footage lawfully, and give it to the police or anyone else only when you are allowed or required to; and
- take your own legal advice if you are unsure.
We may refuse to install a camera where we reasonably believe that its position would be unlawful or harmful.
8.6 Footage stays with you. We do not receive, store or watch your footage by default. It stays on your recorder and in the camera maker’s app or cloud that you set up. If you ask us for help, or you buy a monitoring service, we may view live or recorded images only for that purpose and as your Service Agreement says. If your service includes a cloud copy of video, we keep that copy for the period your Service Agreement states.
8.7 Power, internet and passwords. The system needs working power and, for remote viewing and alerts, internet or mobile data. We are not responsible for outages. Change default passwords, keep passwords private, keep the recorder’s and the app’s software updated, and do not share access. You are responsible for harm caused by weak, shared or stolen passwords.
8.8 Leave the equipment as installed. Do not move or change equipment, or let anyone else repair it, without telling us first. Doing so may end the warranty.
9Equipment: ownership, risk and warranty
9.1 Ownership. Unless your Service Agreement says otherwise, equipment we supply stays our property until we have received everything you owe for it. Until then you must look after it, must not sell, lend or pledge it, and must not remove it from the address without our agreement. If you do not pay after we have given you notice, we may collect it, as far as the law allows.
9.2 Risk. Risk of loss, theft or damage passes to you when the equipment is delivered or installed. You must pay to repair or replace anything that is lost, stolen or damaged after that, unless it was our fault.
9.3 Warranty. The equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty. In any case, goods and our installation work carry at least the warranty that the Consumer Affairs Act 2011 requires, and any longer warranty stated in your quote, invoice or the manufacturer’s papers. If a covered fault appears during the warranty, we will repair or replace the item, or refund you where the law requires.
9.4 What the warranty does not cover. Faults caused by misuse, accidents, rough handling, tampering, repairs or changes by anyone other than us or the manufacturer, power surges, lightning, flooding or water where the item is not made for it, fire, pests, theft or vandalism, normal wear, batteries and other consumables, changes to a third-party app or cloud service, or problems with your internet or power. A warranty on equipment is not a promise that footage will exist (see section 10).
9.5 How to claim. Tell us as soon as you notice a fault, give us your name, address and proof of purchase, and let us inspect the item. Keep your receipts and invoices.
10Cameras, alarms and monitoring: no guarantee
10.1 What our systems are for. Cameras, alarms, sensors and monitoring can help deter crime, show what happened and tell you about events. They are aids. They are not a guarantee.
10.2 No promise of protection. We do not promise that any system or service will prevent or detect a break-in, theft, fire, flood, injury, damage or other loss, or that it will record, store, send or show an event, or that anyone will respond in time.
10.3 Why a system can fail. Systems depend on many things we do not control, including power, internet and mobile networks, Wi-Fi, the camera maker’s app and cloud, lighting, weather, camera position, storage space, hardware faults, software errors, theft of or damage to the equipment, and the actions of other people. Alerts may be late, missed or false. Recorded footage can be overwritten, lost, damaged or too unclear to identify anyone, and an insurer, the police or a court may not accept it. Back up footage that you may need.
10.4 Monitoring services. If you buy monitoring or alarm services, what we do when an alarm or camera event happens is what your Service Agreement and the description of that service on the Site say, and nothing more. We carry out the steps described with reasonable care and skill, but they depend on the things listed in 10.3, we do not promise any response time, and we do not promise that an event will be noticed, checked or acted on. Unless your Service Agreement expressly says so, we do not send the police or other emergency services.
10.5 We are not an emergency service or an insurer. In an emergency, call the police, the fire service or an ambulance. Do not rely on our systems or on us to do so. We are not your insurer. Keep your own insurance for your property and your business. We do not promise that our equipment meets an insurer’s requirements or will lower your premium.
10.6 Higher cover. If you want us to accept a higher level of responsibility for a particular job, tell us before you order. We may agree to it in writing for an extra charge.
11Cancellation, refunds and your legal rights
11.1 Your legal rights come first. Nothing in these Terms or in a Service Agreement takes away any right you have under the Consumer Affairs Act 2011 or any other law that cannot be excluded. That includes rights about faulty goods, goods that are not as described, warranties, returns and refunds. If you think we have not followed the law, you can complain to us, and you can also contact the Competition and Consumer Affairs Commission (CCAC) in Guyana.
11.2 Changing your mind before we start. You may cancel an order before we have ordered equipment or scheduled installation. We will refund what you paid, less the reasonable costs we have already spent for you (such as a survey or visit, or equipment ordered specially for you).
11.3 After equipment is ordered or installed. Because equipment is ordered and installed specially for you, we cannot take it back for a change of mind once it has been ordered for you or installed, other than where the law gives you that right. If equipment or our work is faulty or not as described, section 9 and your legal rights apply.
11.4 Ending a monthly service. Unless your Service Agreement says otherwise, you may end a monthly service by giving us 30 days’ notice (a message is enough). Monthly fees are due until the end of the notice period. Any minimum term, and any charge for ending early, must be stated in your Service Agreement and does not apply unless it is.
11.5 If we end it. We may end a service if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms or your Service Agreement, if you do not pay after a reminder, or if we can no longer provide the service. If we end it for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund any fee you have paid for a period we did not provide.
11.6 Refunds. Refunds are made promptly, by the method you paid with or another method we agree with you.
12Messages and notices
12.1 Service messages. We may contact you by email, phone, text message (SMS), WhatsApp, the customer portal or the Site about your account, quotes, installations, visits, billing, security and support. These are not marketing.
12.2 Marketing. We send marketing messages (such as offers) only if you have agreed. You can withdraw your agreement at any time: use the unsubscribe link, reply STOP where that works, or tell us. Withdrawing does not stop service messages.
12.3 Records. We keep a record of what you agreed to and when.
12.4 Messaging providers. Text and WhatsApp messages travel through other companies (such as Meta/WhatsApp, our messaging provider and your phone company). Their terms and charges apply. We are not responsible if a message is delayed, blocked or not delivered. Keep your contact details up to date.
12.5 Notices to you. You agree that we may give you notices electronically, by email, WhatsApp, text, the portal or the Site, and that these count as written notice. A notice is treated as received when we send it, or when we post it on the Site.
12.6 Notices to us. Send them to info@592security.com or use the Contact page. A notice to us counts only when we receive it.
13Intellectual property
13.1 Ours. The name 592Security, our logo, the Site’s design, text, pictures and software, the layout of our reports and everything else we create are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive licence to use the Site and your reports for their intended purpose. All other rights are reserved.
13.2 Other people’s marks. Names and logos such as ZOSI, WhatsApp, Meta and Google belong to their owners. Mentioning them does not mean they sponsor or approve us.
13.3 Feedback. If you give us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you or crediting you.
14Your information and information about other people
14.1 What you give us. You are responsible for what you send us. You promise that it is accurate and lawful and that you have the right to give it to us.
14.2 Other people. If you give us details about another person (for example a family member or an emergency contact), you promise that you have their permission and that you have told them how we will use their details under our Privacy Policy.
14.3 Our right to use it. You allow us to use what you give us to provide the Site and the Services, to keep our records, to protect our rights and as the Privacy Policy describes.
15Other companies’ services and links
15.1 The Site and the Services use, or link to, services run by other companies, such as WhatsApp (Meta), Google Fonts, the camera maker’s app and cloud, payment and mobile-money providers, messaging and email providers, and security-data providers. We do not control them and are not responsible for them, their content, their availability or their privacy practices. Their own terms apply when you use them.
16Disclaimers
16.1 As far as the law allows, the Site, the scanner, the reports and any free service are provided “as is” and “as available”, without any promise (express or implied) that they are accurate, complete, reliable, uninterrupted, error-free, secure or suitable for your purpose, or that they do not infringe anyone’s rights.
16.2 Information on the Site about security is general. It is not legal, security-engineering, insurance or other professional advice, and you should not rely on it as if it were.
16.3 Our free service runs on shared hosting that can be slow, unavailable or restarted without warning. Scan results are kept in memory for a limited time and are lost when the service restarts (see our Privacy Policy), so save what you need.
16.4 Nothing in this section affects rights you have under the Consumer Affairs Act 2011 or any law that cannot be excluded.
17Limits on our liability
17.1 What we do not limit. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for wilful misconduct, or for anything the law does not allow us to limit or exclude, including your rights as a consumer.
17.2 What we are not liable for. Subject to 17.1 and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for: (a) loss of profit, income, revenue, business, contracts, savings or goodwill; (b) loss of or damage to data, footage or devices; (c) indirect or consequential loss, or any loss that was not a foreseeable result of our breach; (d) any loss or damage caused by a crime, fire, flood, accident or other event that a camera, an alarm, a monitoring service or the Site did not prevent, detect, record or report; (e) anything caused by you acting on a scan report or changing a website or system; or (f) failures of other companies’ services, power, internet or mobile networks.
17.3 Overall limit. Subject to 17.1 and as far as the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims connected with the Site or a Service (whether in contract, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise) is limited to the amount you paid us for the particular Service that the claim is about in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim. For the Site and our free services, the limit is GYD 10,000.
17.4 Why. You accept that our prices and our free services reflect these limits, that we are not your insurer, and that you can protect yourself by taking out insurance and by asking for higher cover (see 10.6).
17.5 Consumers and businesses. If you are a consumer, these limits apply only as far as the law permits. If you are a business, they apply to the fullest extent the law permits.
17.6 Your part. Tell us about a problem as soon as you find it and take reasonable steps to limit your loss.
18Your responsibility for claims
18.1 You will pay us back for, and protect us against, claims, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that come from: (a) your breach of these Terms or of a Service Agreement; (b) a scan you started of a website or system you were not authorised to test, or a false authorisation; (c) how you place or use cameras, or record, keep or share footage; (d) information you give us that is unlawful or infringes someone’s rights; or (e) your misuse of the Site, in each case except to the extent that we caused the loss through our own fault or negligence.
18.2 If you are a consumer, this section applies only as far as the law permits.
19Suspending or ending your use
19.1 We may suspend or close your account, or stop providing the Site or a Service, with or without notice where that is needed to protect people or systems, if you break these Terms or the law, do not pay what you owe, put the Site or other people at risk, or if we are required to by law or by an authority. Where it is fair and safe to do so, we will tell you why.
19.2 You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Closing it does not cancel money you already owe.
19.3 When an account closes, your right to use the Site ends. We will handle your information as the Privacy Policy says.
19.4 Sections that by their nature should continue (including those on payment, ownership of equipment, intellectual property, disclaimers, limits on liability, your responsibility for claims and governing law) continue after these Terms end.
20Events outside our control
20.1 We are not in breach of these Terms, and are not liable for a delay or a failure, if it is caused by something beyond our reasonable control. That includes power cuts, internet or mobile network failures, fire, flood, storms, accidents, strikes, civil disturbance, supply or shipping delays, government action, pandemics, and failures of cloud, hosting or other providers we depend on. We will take reasonable steps to carry on as soon as we can.
21Governing law and disputes
21.1 These Terms, and any dispute connected with them, the Site or the Services, are governed by the laws of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.
21.2 If you have a complaint, contact us first (see section 23) so that we can try to put it right. Please give us 30 days to respond before you start legal action, unless the matter is urgent.
21.3 If we cannot settle it, the courts of Guyana have jurisdiction, and we both agree to them. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes any right you have to use another court or a consumer body (such as the CCAC), or any consumer protection of the country where you live that applies by law.
22General
22.1 Whole agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and your Service Agreement are the whole agreement between us about their subject, and they replace anything said or written earlier.
22.2 If a part is invalid. If a court finds part of these Terms invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that part is changed as little as needed to make it valid.
22.3 No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
22.4 Transfers. We may transfer our rights and duties under these Terms to someone who takes over our business or the relevant part of it. You may not transfer yours without our written agreement.
22.5 Other people. Only you and we have rights under these Terms. Nobody else can enforce them.
22.6 Language and meaning. These Terms are in English. “Including” and similar words do not limit what comes before them. Headings are only for convenience.
22.7 Electronic records. You agree that our electronic records, such as the time you ticked a box, the version you agreed to and our message logs, can be used as evidence of what was agreed.
22.8 Relationship. Nothing here makes us partners, agents, or employer and employee.
